George Rafty, principal of First National Newcastle City, was recently announced as the Residential Salesperson of 2016, awarded by the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales (REINSW) on Thursday, 13 October 2016.
REINSW President, John Cunningham, said awards were presented across all facets of the industry including innovation, community service, residential and commercial professionals.
“Our prestigious awards have been taken out by some of the most dynamic real estate professionals in the industry and are a true celebration of excellence. The broad range of skills highlights what it takes to be successful in what is a fast paced and competitive industry,” John said.
This is the second consecutive year George Rafty was nominated as finalist in this award.
“To win this year as the only non-Sydney nominated finalist within residential sales is a huge honour to me personally, and a testament to the whole team at First National Newcastle City. I could not have achieved this result without their absolute dedication and support,” George said.
When asked what George believe are the key reasons for his success in claiming the top prize in the category of residential sales, he puts it down to good old fashioned hard work and good manners.
“I have been working in this industry for nearly 25 years. I think it comes down to consistency and always doing right by our clients. I truly believe that if you work hard and provide great personal service, good things will follow.”
George was also keen to point out that he shared the honour with notable peers, some of who went on to claim esteemed prizes including Novocastrian Wayne Stewart of Century 21 Newcastle. Stewart went on to win the Woodrow Weight Award, which recognises outstanding contributions to the real estate agency practices.
“This type of recognition from Sydney is good for Newcastle. We are absolutely on the map in terms of being acknowledged as a vibrant city blessed with a great lifestyle. We have good reason to be proud of our region. And excited about what is ahead,” George concluded.
The real estate awards were REINSWs 19th annual Awards for Excellence and it was held at Four Points by Sheraton, Sydney.
