nib foundation has announced the appointment of their first female Chairman, Judi Geggie, to their independent volunteer Board following the retirement of former Chairman, Keith Lynch.
Judi steps up to the helm after five years’ experience as an Independent Director on the Board. She also brings with her an extensive career of more than 30 years in community and family services, and education management roles.
Judi said she was honoured to take on the role.
“It’s an honour to be the first female Chairman to lead the foundation Board and to represent the growing number of women on boards and in leadership roles across Australia,” Judi said.
“It’s been a pleasure to work alongside Keith and the board over the past five years and I look forward to an exciting future for nib foundation as we continue to play an active role in helping Australians across the country to improve their health and wellbeing.”
Judi also paid tribute to her predecessor thanking him for his six-year tenure as Chairman of the Hunter-based charitable foundation.
“Keith has been a driving force behind nib foundation, including playing an instrumental role in establishing the foundation during his time as Chairman of nib,” Judi said.
“We wish Keith all the best and look forward to continuing the great legacy Keith has left behind as we continue to seek new and innovative ways to help the most vulnerable Australians live healthier lives.”
The foundation also welcomed nib’s Group Executive Legal and Chief Risk Officer, Roslyn Toms, to the Board this month, bringing its female representation to 50%.
Currently also Company Secretary of nib holdings limited, Roslyn brings with her a wealth of experience in legal, risk, compliance and governance disciplines.
nib foundation recently celebrated its 10th anniversary of giving, with more than $17 million in funding committed to support over 120 programs across Australia that help improve community health and wellbeing.
