Heavy engineering and steel manufacturing business, TW Woods has appointed Clive Jones to General Manager to support the business’ growth.
The new role is responsible for bringing structure and growth to the business and further develop TW Woods position of capability and versatility.
For the past 24 years Clive operated a successful organisation consultancy and coaching business. Clive said he is excited by the new challenge with TW Woods.
“The team here is fabulous and has an incredible depth and diversity in knowledge that really needs harnessing for the future. Combining the talents and experience with the plant and equipment here, I’ve already identified a long list of opportunities that the team is capable of achieving,” Clive said.
Clive’s initial focus will be on implementing business management software and processes and introducing ISO 9001 and other projects for better controls and efficiency.
TW Woods has a solid history of innovative fabrication in the Hunter since 1966. The business’ work spans the traditional services supporting the mines and coal loaders testing and developing new designs and methods to improve flows and longevity, through to building conveyors and structures for the recycling industry, and piles, gangways and wharfs for Sydney’s waterways.
The investment and development of in-house machinery has allowed the business to have the unique capabilities to manufacture in house.
Managing Director, Tom Woods said Clive is a welcome addition to the team.
“With all the opportunities in front of us here in the new markets opening up, I decided we needed to prepare for the future,” Tom said.
“Having Clive here initially to undertake a project, I realised that he would be an ideal fit to help me and the team lift the business to another level. With upcoming major works for the mining, defence, infrastructure, recycling, marine and services sectors, our business is facing some exciting and innovative possibilities and we’re already seeing improvements.”
