Time to put your feet up, relax and enjoy the view
The seats are empty, there is excitement in the air and the silly season has begun. It’s Christmas time and as we head into the last two full weeks of work before Christmas day, we want everyone to sit down, put your feet up and enjoy the view.
I took this photo last week before my morning row and it looked so peaceful. Yet underneath this photo only a few minutes earlier there was a host of activity – people working together to get boats on the water, adjusting their equipment, talking about what the morning ahead held for them.
Then there was peace and calm as with the year that has gone, this is what the scene will be like at the majority of workplaces around our region (except most workplaces don’t have a lake).
The metaphor is that peace and calm will descend upon us for a few days and we need to take stock and enjoy this time.
I, for one, feel extremely privileged to work for the members of HunterNet. I get the opportunity to marvel at all the great work that is done in the Hunter and Central Coast regions by dedicated people. These people are not just the mangers or CEO’s of the businesses – these are the people who dedicate themselves to their work, their co-workers and who aspire to do good for the wider collective.
At HunterNet we have a number of people who work behind the scenes on committees, panels and who give up their time to present to our members on subjects they believe will assist businesses to grow and reach the heights that they wish to ascend too.
To all of those people, and they know who they are, thank you.
To everyone, play nicely, enjoy the peace and calm, stay safe and Merry Christmas (whatever your beliefs are) to all.
