TROG Cancer Research, which has its headquarters in Newcastle, is a global leader in the field of cancer clinical trials research. TROG’s mission is to improve outcomes and quality of life for people affected by cancer.
Working with more than 70 cancer treatment centres and hospitals across Australia and New Zealand, TROG has conducted more than 100 clinical trials with the help of 14,500 patient volunteers. TROG Cancer Research is involved in research to treat many different kinds of cancer such as breast, lung, prostate, skin, head and neck.
The research group, which is made up of more than 1,400 researchers, doctors and clinicians, who all volunteer their time, was established in 1989.
TROG was recognised for its role in cancer research winning the NSW Premier’s award for Innovation in Cancer Clinical Trials in 2013.
